Dear ammrl members:

We have a couple of Silicon Graphics O2 running under Irix 6.3 wich
control our Bruker spectrometers Avance DMX500 and ASX300.

A week ago, they suddenly started scrambling the IP
addresses of the netmask, causing them that were not able to reach the
external network. As we reconfigured them, the problem was temporaryly
solved, but after a couple of hours, they made the same mistake again.

One of the O2 computer, took a lot of time trying to stablish
communication with the spect console and when it was finally reached it
slowed down any process.

We decided to "reconfigure" the ec0 (gave the correct IP
address), reinstaled the network controllers, but as soon as we pluggin
in the network cable, the computer slows down, even to shut it down the
system!

Have any of you experienced a similar problem?. Would you
please comment us how you fixed the problem?. Do you have any
sugestion, besides of formatting the hard disk and reinstaling the whole
system?

Does any of you have a xwinnmr 2.1 running under
a higher 6.3 IRIX version?. Does any of you have xedplot running under
a higher xwinnmr version?.

            Thanks in advance.

With my best regards.
