Research Scientist-NMR Spectroscopy (Pearl River, NY)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Ph.D. in natural products / organic / analytical chemistry or related field, with 5+ years past graduate experience.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES: This position will provide innovative and collaborative solutions to challenging research problems in the areas of small-molecule NMR spectroscopy, organic and natural products structure elucidation and stereochemical analyses, in support of Wyeth's drug discovery efforts. The preferred candidate will have extensive, proven experience in applying modern NMR methods to solving complex structure and, in conjunction with modeling and computational methods, relative & absolute stereochemical problems. This position requires proficiency in UNIX, LINUX and Windows operating systems along with a familiarity with Bruker spectrometers, including hands-on operation and data & hardware maintenance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a customer-oriented team environment. Knowledge of circular dichroism as applied to absolute stereochemistry determination is a plus.
